Money paid to Manchester Pride and charges made
Dear Manchester City Council,
How much does Manchester City Council give the Manchester
Pride event each year (including donations and grants) and how much does it charge the event each year (including for services such as street cleaning)?
Ideally I would like figures for the years from 2003 to 2010
inclusive. But if that is too much for one FOI request, please
provide as many as possible, working backwards from the current
year.
Note that in 2003 the event was known as Europride.
Yours faithfully,
R.Stafford

Dear Margaret Stephenson
Thank you for the prompt response and the information that you have provided.
In your response you state that:
"2003/4 were prior to the formation of Manchester Pride Limited and it has been difficult to find a specific breakdown of figures relating to these years. From 2005 onwards the event was produced by Manchester Pride Limited."
However according to the Charity Commission website the change in name of the not for profit company occurred on 29 April 2004 and this ties in with the change in name of the event from Europride in 2003 to Manchester Pride in 2004.

It would seem this name change occurred four months before the Manchester Pride event at the end of August 2004. So this does not explain why figures are unavailable for 2004.
Thank you.
R.Stafford
Dear Manchester City Council
In 2003, prior to being renamed the following year, the not-for-profit company was called EuroPride Manchester 2003 Limited.
Thank you.
