Dear Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy,

In the March 2016 budget (https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio... there is the following statement:

> provide up to £5 million to develop options for an authoritative address register that is open and freely available – making wider use of more precise address data and ensuring it is frequently updated will unlock opportunities for innovation

Her Majesty’s Treasury have told me that they gave all the £5 million to BEIS (or presumably it's predecessor, The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills).

I would like detailed information on:

1. How the £5m was spent, broken down by as much detail as you hold and are able to publish.

2. Any assets such as initial reports, findings, evidence of work or, any other material that was created as a result of this money.

In other words, I would like the information about the output of the work to "develop options", who did that work and what their finding are or were.

Yours faithfully,

Sym Roe

Dear Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy's handling of my FOI request 'Money for the Address Register'.

I would like to review to consider if exemption under Section 35(1)(a) was applied in an excessively broad manner and if some information could be released now.

The complete refusal means even the amount spent, and terms of reference for any pieces of work commissioned have been withheld. I would like this to be reconsidered, even in the form of a high level spending plan.

I would also like some idea of when this policy work might be expected to be finished and how much money is remaining of the total.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/m...

Yours faithfully,

Sym Roe
