FOI, England (NHS ENGLAND), NHS England

Dear Sir or Madam,

Re:      Freedom of Information request (Our Ref: FOI-052960)

Thank you for your Freedom of Information (FOI) request dated 16 March
2017.

Your exact request was:-

“Could you please provide me with a list of all the CCGs that have entered
into a collaborative commissioning agreement contract through NHS England
in 2015/16 and 2016 to current (with the inclusion of which CCG is lead in
the agreement) and if possible, a breakdown of which services are included
within the signed agreements”

NHS England holds some information in relation to your request.

We have interpreted your request as relating to co-commissioning. If we
have misinterpreted your request, however, please feel free to contact us
using the details provided below.

Primary care co-commissioning is one of a series of changes set out in the
NHS Five Year Forward View. It gives Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs)
an opportunity to take on greater responsibility for general practice
commissioning. It was introduced to support the development of integrated
out-of-hospital services, based around the needs of local people.

In 2014/15, NHS England invited CCGs to take on greater responsibility for
general practice commissioning through one of three models:

·         Greater involvement – an invitation to CCGs to work more closely
with their local NHS England teams in decisions about primary care
services;

·         Joint commissioning – enables one or more CCGs to jointly
commission general practice services with NHS England through a joint
committee;

·         Delegated commissioning –an opportunity for CCGs to take on full
responsibility for the commissioning of general practice services.

You can find out more about co-commissioning on the NHS England website at
the following web link:

As such, the information you have requested is not centrally collated by
NHS England but has been provided to us in part by CCGs with delegated
responsibilities. Individual CCGs may be able to offer a more detailed
picture in their local area.

A list of CCGs with such responsibilities can be found on our website at
the following web link:
