Dear Sir/Madam,

I wrote to you on 27 September asking for information on a Greenwich mobile phone application. It has been logged as RFI/02454.

I would like to remind you that by law, and as stated in your response of 28 September, I should have received a response by 25 October. Therefore I am requesting an internal review of this matter, and I look forward to receiving this information shortly.

Yours sincerely,

Darryl Chamberlain

Alan Soskin,

Dear Mr Chamberlain

I have made enquiries about the progress of our response to you in this
matter, and I am now able to provide you with an update.

There were 2 parts to your Request -

* How much was spent on developing the app?
* How many copies of the app have been downloaded since its launch?

We have obtained the financial information that you asked for. This is as
follows:
Development - £3,150
Audio guide - script writing, voice-over - £2,000
Studio use - £550

These figures do not include Value Added Tax.

Information about downloads is not held by the Council. We have contacted
the developers to see if they can find out about download figures. If they
hold this data, and are prepared to release it to us, then I will disclose
this to you as a follow-on email.

I apologise for the delay in responding to your Request, and for not
keeping you informed of progress.

Alan Soskin,

Dear Mr Chamberlain

I write further to my email dated 29 October (shown below), when I
undertook to disclose the download figures to you when I was advised what
they were. I apologise for the delay in getting back to you. The following
is the information provided to Council Cabinet last week.

Since the app was launched it has been downloaded 563 times. This includes
downloads in our main tourist markets of the USA ( 6.2%), mainlaind Europe
( 7%), Canada and Australia ( about 1% each). All other downloads were in
the UK. It has been rated 4 out of 5 by people who have downloaded it.

The app has been moved into a new category to pick up on the travel and
tourism market and enable it to reach more people.

We launched the app on the iphone as that is the most popular smart phone
on the market. We have discussed extending its availability to other smart
phones and would do so, should a budget for this be available or a sponsor
found.

Regards, -Alan
