Jonathan Mantle

Dear Public Health Wales Observatory,

I am writing a column about the Dr Andrew Wakefield and the effect his paper had upon the uptake of the MMR jab. Under the freedom of information act please could I request the following

1) How many people took the MMR jab in 1993, that where in your authority.
2) How many took took the MMR jab in 1998, that where in your authority.
3) How many took the MMR jab in 2008, that where in your authority.
4) How much money was spent from 1998 until 2008 in promoting the use of the MMR jab

If you have a year by year breakdown of the MMR uptake then I would be grateful but the years stated above are the main ones please.

Yours faithfully,

Jonathan Mantle

Dear Mr Mantle

We acknowledge receipt of your request to PHW Observatory  on 9^th May
2016.

You have requested:

I am writing a column about the Dr Andrew Wakefield and the effect his
paper had upon the uptake of the MMR jab.  Under the freedom of
information act please could I request the following

1) How many people took the MMR jab in 1993, that where in your authority.

2) How many took  took the MMR jab in 1998, that where in your authority.

3) How many took the MMR jab in 2008, that where in your authority.

4) How  much money was spent from 1998 until 2008 in promoting the use of
the MMR jab

If you have a year by year breakdown of the MMR uptake then I would be
grateful but the years stated above are the main ones please.

Public Health Wales holds information relating to questions 1-3 but this
will be in financial years rather then calendar years i.e. April to
March.  There may be other identified caveats to the information we
release to you such as definition of the cohort receiving the MMR
injection.

As we have received exactly the same questions from you via Aneurin Beven,
Hywel Dda and Abertawe Bro Morgannwg University Health Boards we propose
to answer this centrally for all Health Board areas in Wales.  We hope to
answer these questions by 7^th June 2016.

Public Health Wales does not hold the information for Question 4.  This
may be held by the relevant Health Board but there have been 2
reorganisations of the NHS in Wales within the time period to which you
refer.

Regards

Jane Evans

Dear Jane Evans (Public Health Wales - Screening, 16 Cathedral Rd),

Thanks for getting back in touch with me. I do apologise; had I but realised that the other boards had forwards this on to you then I would not have sent a request to yourselves.

Getting the informaiton in financial years in great. No worries about question 4.

Yours sincerely,

Jonathan Mantle

Jonathan, I don't pick up from your request whether you are for or against Dr Wakefield. I hope you are trying to expose the true facts. My daughter had a severe adverse reaction to the vaccine and I have a lot of FOIA information and other information that I would be prepared to share. My email address is steve@hinksfamily.co.uk
