The request was successful.

I'd like to know the number of missed refuse collections by Cityclean in 2013.
I'd also like to have a breakdown of the information by ward i.e. number of missed collections in Central Hove, Goldsmid and such like.

I'd also like to know the recycling rate for the city in 2013 compared to the annual target recycling rate for the city.

We am unable to provide this as our data is recorded according to the scheduled rounds that are allocated for collection. We have also included details about the council’s recycling rates.

These figures do not accurately reflect the number of missed collections due to industrial action between May and July and then changes to the service in October which caused disruption to the service. During these periods due to the demand on the service we were unable to take reports.

The Council’s Waste Strategy had set the recycling target for 2012/13 as 32% and then increasing to 45% in 2015/16.

The recycling rate for 2013/14 has not yet finalised and we are still working on this however, is likely to be around 25%.
