Missed bin collections data

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Havant Borough Council should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Havant Borough Council,

Under the Freedom Of Information Act I would like to request the following data:

- The number of missed bin collections in 2018, 2019 and 2020

- How many extra bin lorries had to be sent out to pick up bins missed during their routine collections in 2018, 2019, 2020

- The additional costs to the council resulting from missed bin collections in 2018, 2019 and 2020

- The average weekly and annual costs to the council of collecting domestic waste, as in the regular landfill waste, food waste and recycling created by homes which is collected by the council.

Thank you for your request for information under the Environmental
Information Regulations 2004, which was received by Havant Borough Council
on 18 August 2020. You have requested the following:

 

- The number of missed bin collections in 2018, 2019 and 2020

 

Please see below records of reported missed bins:

1-4-2018 to 31-3-2019:   7245

1-4-2019 to 31-3-2020:  6426

1-4-2020 to 24-8-2020:  2887

- How many extra bin lorries had to be sent out to pick up bins missed
during their routine collections in 2018, 2019, 2020

No extra vehicles were sent out to pick up missed bins.

- The additional costs to the council resulting from missed bin
collections in 2018, 2019 and 2020

No additional cost to the council resulting from missed bin collections.

- The average weekly and annual costs to the council of collecting
domestic waste, as in the regular landfill waste, food waste and recycling
created by homes which is collected by the council.

 

HBC has an annual partnership fee with our service providing partner that
covers all of our Environmental Services provision and the cost is as a
whole and not split down in to the many various service provisions. We are
therefore unable to provide a response to this question.
