Misconduct / gross misconduct notices

Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) did not have the information requested.

Dear Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),

I am making this request for information pursuant to FOIA 2000.

1. I would like to know how many of your officers have been issued with misconduct / gross misconduct notices during the past 3 months.

2. Details for what type of notice was issued, the date of each notice served.

3. Details of the allegations being investigated for each notice.

4. Details of rank of each officer issued with notice.

5. How many of the notices relate to the same case-s.

I would like to stress that I am not requesting any personal information that would identify any of the officers, just the rank of each officer.

will be processed in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(the Act).  

You will receive your response directly from the relevant unit within the
statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act.  

In some circumstances the MPS may be unable to achieve this deadline.  If
this is likely you will be informed and given a revised time-scale at the
earliest opportunity.

Following receipt of your request searches were conducted within the MPS
to locate information relevant to your request.

EXTENT OF SEARCHES TO LOCATE INFORMATION

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted
at Met HQ Performance & Assurance - Commisioning

RESULT OF SEARCHES

The searches failed to locate any information relevant to your request,
therefore, the information you have requested is not held by the MPS.

The MPS do not keep accurate records for the number of misconduct / gross
misconduct notices issued. The field on the MPS system Tribune to record
this information is not  mandatory and therefore is not always completed.

Advice and Assistance

The MPS can provide the number of officer/s recorded re misconduct/gross
misconduct over the specified time period within your request but not the
number of notices issued.

Please let me know if you wish to submit a new request for the data
mentioned in the Advice and Assistance section of this notice.  Any new
request received will be subject to the statutory 20 working days to
respond.
