Q2
Available support programs & groups mothers are signposted to after a miscarriage
and, if applicable, criteria for receiving support.
A2
Following a miscarriage we provide a range of information including contact details and
online resources for a range of charities and organisations which provide support
including the following:
Miscarriage Association
Cradle – which specialises in early pregnancy loss
Aching Arms: If appropriate an aching arms bear donated by the charity and also
information on how to access their services
Zephyr’s: A local independent charity based in the hospital whose services include
counselling and support groups
4Louis: We give out memory boxes to women that contain beautiful memory making
pieces as well as more information on accessing support
SANDS – the national support charity
There are no criteria for accessing support and we would encourage women to access
the support available to them via these channels, as well as through our multi-faith
chaplaincy team, as appropriate.

I can confirm that the Trust holds information that falls within the description specified
in your request. However, we estimate that the cost of complying with your request
would exceed the appropriate limit of £450. The appropriate limit is set by the
Secretary of State in SI 2004 No 3244 - The Freedom of Information and Data
Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004 has a limit of £450 for Public
Authorities. This represents the estimated cost of one person spending over 18 hours
(at rate of £25 per hour) in determining whether the Trust holds the information, and in
locating, retrieving and extracting information.
Under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act the Trust is therefore not obliged
to comply with your request and we will not be processing your request further.
