Dear Department for Culture, Media and Sport,

Since 2000 on what dates (other than 11th November Remembrance and related Sunday) has the Government called for silences of one or more minutes and what was the reason for each event. Please indicate where the time was more than one minute.

If you have not got the records back to 2000 then please go back as far as you can towards that date.

Also, who decides to call for a silence and what are the criteria for calling for one?

Yours faithfully,

Peter Bennet
