Our response

1.            Number of Printers within the Council?

This information is not held in an easily accessible format that allows
for the data to be reported as printers are not managed centrally.

Collating this data would require contacting each department in the
council to confirm purchasing any printers in the last 5-10 years as an
example.

Even a few minutes spent manually checking each of the transactions across
the council would take over 18 hours  We are therefore unable to provide
the requested information within the ‘appropriate limit’ of 18 hours and
your request is therefore refused under Section 12 of the FOI Act.

12) Exemption where cost of compliance exceeds appropriate limit

(1)          Section 1(1) does not oblige a public authority to comply
with a request for information if the authority estimates that the cost of
complying with the request would exceed the appropriate limit.

As we have provided the figures for the MFD’s below to the best of our
ability within the appropriate limit we hope this if of assistance.

2.            Did you lease/rent or purchase the printers?

Purchased.

3.            If leased/rented what is the annual lease/rent charge?

Not Applicable.

4.            Who are the main printer supplier(s)?

We do not have a main supplier for printers as they are not managed
centrally but by each department. Collating this data would require
contacting each department in the council to confirm purchasing any
printers and collecting the details of suppliers in the last 5-10 years as
an example.

Even a minute spent manually checking each of the transactions across the
council over many years would take over 18 hours  We are therefore unable
to provide the requested information within the ‘appropriate limit’ of 18
hours and your request is therefore refused under Section 12 of the FOI
Act.

12) Exemption where cost of compliance exceeds appropriate limit

(1)          Section 1(1) does not oblige a public authority to comply
with a request for information if the authority estimates that the cost of
complying with the request would exceed the appropriate limit.

As we have provided the details for the MFD’s below to the best of our
ability within the appropriate limit we hope this if of assistance.

5.            Does the council have a support contract(s) for Printers?

Not Applicable.

7.            What are the start and end dates for the print support

Not Applicable.

during the last financial year?

This information is not held in an easily accessible format that allows
for the data to be reported as printers are not managed centrally.
Collating this data would require contacting each department in the
council to gather any spend on printers and consumables during the last
financial year.

Even a minute spent manually checking each of the transactions across the
council would take over 18 hours  We are therefore unable to provide the
requested information within the ‘appropriate limit’ of 18 hours and your
request is therefore refused under Section 12 of the FOI Act.

12) Exemption where cost of compliance exceeds appropriate limit

(1)          Section 1(1) does not oblige a public authority to comply
with a request for information if the authority estimates that the cost of
complying with the request would exceed the appropriate limit.

Our council spend over £500 is publically available here and contains some

10.         What is the total colour print volume per annum?

council to collect their print volume if this was recorded.

We are therefore unable to provide the requested information within the
‘appropriate limit’ of 18 hours and your request is therefore refused
under Section 12 of the FOI Act.

12) Exemption where cost of compliance exceeds appropriate limit

(1)          Section 1(1) does not oblige a public authority to comply

We are therefore unable to provide the requested information within the
