Mental Health Assessments and Police attendance

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust,

Please would you kindly help me by providing the following information:

(1) How many Section 135 Mental Health Assessments (MHA's) were requested in the Trust area in the years 2010-11 and 2011-12. Please give the source of these requests.

(2) How many of these were completed in Camden and in Islington for each year and how many resulted in (a) voluntary admission to hospital and (b) formal detention under the MH Act. Please also break down ths statistics by gender.

(3) Of the S135 requests how many requests were made for the Police to attend (a) at the point of request (b) during and after assessment- for both Camden and Islington please.Please can you supply me with the total number of these times the Police actually attended

(4)Of those detained following S135 assessment how many were then transported to a place of safety/ hospital in Police Transport

(5) Of those detained how many were detained under S2 of MH Act and under S3 of MH Act?

(6) Regarding the above figure how many detentions occured from Friday 5pm - Monday 9am?

(6) Of those detained following S135 assessment how many were taken 'off section' within 24 hrs/48 hrs/5 days/7 days

(7) Of those detained under either S2 or S3 following S135 Assessment how many applied to MH Tribunal for release off the section and how many were succesful?

This Trust has just failed the most recent CQC inspection in October 2013 and has been ordered to provide details of compliance by November 13th 2013.
The report can be accessed on the CQC website under St Pancras Hospital. It states concerns that many of us have been raising for a very long time and the Trust has ignored
