Response:

 

1. How much was allocated to your local authority.

• £202,000 for financial year 21-22 and £192,000 for financial year
22-23.

2. Which new or enhanced services will this money be allocated to, and is
each service

• Action for Children transition programme, Barnardo’s Nurture Service
and Cygnets Programme.

 

 1. New or enhanced?

• Action for Children Transition programme is a new service.

• Barnardo’s Nurture and Cygnets is an enhancement.

 1. If enhanced how many extra places are available for children and young
people?

• 64 children and young people and their families were referred for
input from Barnardo’s Nurture Service with 29 more due to be seen
before the end of March 2023..

• 15 parents have been supported via the Cygnet programme to date with
60 more being supported between the present time and March 2023.

c. Digital, physical or telephone based?

• These programme are face to face.

d. If digital, is the service self-help?

• N/A

e. What is the age range of children and young people this service
supports?

• Action for Children 10-13 years of age.

• Barnardo’s Nurture and Cygnets age 4 to 18.

f. For how long will this service be able to run on this funding?

• Till 31 March 2023.

g. What is the referral pathway for this service?

• Action for Children – has a direct referral pathway from schools.

• Barnardo’s Nurture and Cygnets has multiple referral pathways
including self-referral, referral via education establishments and
from staff within education headquarters.

 

 

 

 

 h. How many children and young people are expected to use the service for
the term of funding?

Action for Children transition programme – around 40 children.

Barnardo’s Nurture – 64 children, young people and families to date have
been referred to the service with 29 more due to be seen before the end of
March 2023.

Cygnets – 75 children, young people and their families.

Barnardos -

i. What consultation was done with children and young people and parents
on the design and commissioning of these services.

One of the three key aspects of our Children and Young People’s Community
Mental Health programme is co-production through our ‘Nothing About Us
Without Us’ approach. There is a rolling programme with our pupil
population to support us in the design and re-design of services.

  

If you are dissatisfied with the way in which the Council has dealt with
your request you are entitled to require the Council to review its
decision.  A copy of the Council’s review procedure is attached.
