Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act (FOI) request, as received
on 12 June 2015 and acknowledged on 15 June 2015.   For information, the
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is one of the largest and
busiest NHS teaching Trusts in the country incorporating the General
Hospital, Glenfield Hospital and Royal Infirmary.  The three hospitals are
staffed by almost 11,000 people serving around one million people across
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, and a further two to three million
people from the rest of the UK who come to us for the specialist services
we provide.  During 2014/15 Leicester’s Hospitals treated 1,229,500 (3,368
patients per day) – 97 more each day than in 2013/14.

 

Following consultation with colleagues from the Human Resources
Directorate and Corporate Nursing Directorate, I confirm that the
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust holds some of the information
covered by your FOI request.   In your Freedom of Information Act request,
you asked for the following information and the Trust’s response is
provided below following your request:-  

 

Please can you confirm how many temporary Mental Health staff of the below
specialisms, you have working on an agency basis at the time of this

I am advised that in respect of point (a) above, there was one Health Care
Assistant with mental health experience working through an agency on 12
June 2015.  I am further advised that for points (c) to (g) above, these
services are commissioned by UHL but provided by the Leicestershire
Partnership NHS Trust.  Therefore, UHL does not hold any information
regarding the agency staff employed by the Leicestershire Partnership NHS
Trust on 12 June 2015.

 

To provide additional clarity on my request, ‘temporary Mental Health
staff’ is to mean all persons who are mental health staff and are not on
permanent contracts of employment with the Trust, but are supplied via
employment agencies.
