Description

Dear Winchester City Council,

I have noted that in their latest list of members the BPA (British Parking
Association) lists yourselves:

https://scanmail.trustwave.com/?c=6600&a...

The BPA is not a highly regarded organisation by many motorists and seen
as ineffective in regulating the private parking operators who make up the
bulk of its membership; MPs in the House of Commons have also echoed these
concerns.

Therefore, can you please provide the following information about your
membership:

  - The date you first become a member .I do not have this information to
hand however it was prior to 1994

  - The reason for becoming the member. We do not have access to this
information due to the length of time it dates back to

  - How it benefits your residents by being a member. It would benefit
residents as the Council is able to receive information on latest guidance
and obtain advice from lawline for example, it also provides information
on latest consultations which may benefit residents and may give advice on
meetings where we can attend and share best practice. Many of our car
parks also have safer Parking awards or disabled parking UK awards which
demonstrates a commitment to service delivery.

  - Benefits received by being a member of the BPA. Advice, consultations,
events, shows such as Parkex where we can source goods and services

  - The annual costs for being a member of the BPA. For Winchester City
Council the annual membership fee is £888 pa
