Membership of BPA (British Parking Association)

The request was partially successful.

Dear Stroud District Council,

I have noted that in their latest list of members the BPA (British Parking Association) lists yourselves:
https://www.britishparking.co.uk/BPA-Mem...

The BPA is not a highly regarded organisation by many motorists and seen as ineffective in regulating the private parking operators who make up the bulk of its membership; MPs in the House of Commons have also echoed these concerns.

Therefore, can you please provide the following information about your membership:
- The date you first become a member.
- The reason for becoming the member.
- How it benefits your residents by being a member.
- Benefits received by being a member of the BPA.
- The annual costs for being a member of the BPA.

Yours faithfully,

Mr Jonathan WIlliams

Dear Stroud District Council,

Thank you for your prompt response.

With regards to no information on q2 or q3 I understand it is not a practice for an authority to create a decision document to support a spending decision, this would contain answers to those questions. Given how recently the authority joined I would expect this decision document to be present. Can you please provide a copy.

With regards to Q5, whilst the BPA does publish a schedule of fees it is banded as does not provide the specific fee your authority paid which may also include a separately negotiated discount. Again, can you please provide the specific authority's fee paid.

Best Regards

Jon Williams
