Steve Elibank made this Freedom of Information request to The Association of Chief Police Officers of England, Wales and Northern Ireland
This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.
Dear Association of Chief Police Officers,
Please provide me with a list of all current members of ACPO. If
the 'personal information' criterion prevents you from identifying
people by name, then please provide me with their rank and
organisation, eg. "Deputy Chief Constable, Hertfordshire Police."
I would like this provided to me in an electronic format.
Dear Mr Elibank,
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000
Thank you for your request for information, received on 19 July 2011 concerning ACPO members which has now been registered and allocated the following reference number: ACPOFOIA_58. Please quote this reference number in all future correspondence.
There is also a need at this point to draw your attention to the fact that ACPO is not yet a designated body covered by the terms of the Freedom of Information legislation. Although it was announced that ACPO would be included, the part V order has yet to be implemented by Parliament. For these reasons it is important that you clearly understand that not being bound by the legislation means that ACPO cannot apply exemptions to disclosure, engage the fees regulations and there is also no recourse from the applicant’s perspective to the Information Commissioners Office.
However, it is the intention of ACPO to comply with the spirit of the legislation and I hope to be in a position to respond to your request no later than 17 August 2011 which is within the statutory timescale of 20 working days.
Should you have any queries in the meantime then please do not hesitate to contact me.
