The attached Constitution covers the Members Allowance Scheme and includes the Special Responsibility Allowance which has been requested and full details of the Scheme, what Councillors can claim. The Special Responsibility Allowance is paid to Executive Members and Assistant Executive Members and Councillors who have been appointed as Members of a Committee. Also, please find attached the Council Appointments List 2016/2017 which confirms the positions held.
The Current Members Allowance for:
• Members Basic Allowance is £5,392.80
• Leaders Allowance - £17,307.90
• Members attendance – how many hours per week – We are unable to provide the actual number of hours Members spend each week at meetings as the length of the different Committee Meetings vary, and each individual Member is on different Committees, the duration of meetings are not recorded. Members may also be on outside bodies and have separate meetings to attend (please find attached link to public documents - Outside Bodies List 2016-2017).
• How many meetings have they attended - please see the attached link to access the Committee Meetings, choose the relevant Committee, choose the relevant date and click on attendance tab this will show which Councillors were in attendance at the meeting.
