Dear Andy,

Thank you for your request for information regarding ‘member training’ (reference number 00441); please see our response below. If you have any queries regarding your request for information then please don’t hesitate to contact me.

1. Type of governance system for the Authority (committee/executive/hybrid)
Executive and Committee

2. Total Number of elected members
64

3. Training/development programme for Members, if one exists
Please refer to standards reports attached.

4. Training/development budget for all Members
Training budget is subsumed within overall costings.

5. Number of Member training events held in previous 12 months
Training events would need to be more clearly defined – in addition to the sessions outlined in the Standards report there would be other briefing sessions for Elected Members along with briefing sessions given to Committees looking at specialist topics. Dependant on what is requested further information could be supplied.

6. Name of training provider for each event
The vast majority of training events for Members are provided in house to minimise cost.
