Member Call Ins

Waiting for an internal review by Croydon Borough Council of their handling of this request.

Dear Croydon Borough Council,

I understand that Councillors to refer an application to Planning Committee must email the Development Management email address setting out their preferences.

For the 2018-22 term (or for 2021-22 if cost becomes a consideration) could you please in a simple table list every member and the amount of times they have referred applications to Committee regardless of if the application ever made it to Committee or not.

Yours faithfully,

Jeff

Dear Croydon Council,
Unfortunately this response is simply not true. All you need to do is an email search of Councillors who email [email address] requesting a call in. It is preposterous to state it will take so long to compile. A simple email search and then listing the number of times a councillor has called in schemes would provide the information for you well within the cost limit. By using the route you have of searching it based off applications elongates the process to deliberately exempt the request.

Under freedom of information law you are also required to offer guidance to help the request fall within the required limit. Could you please advise what length of time you consider will fall within the 18 hours cost limit. The request specifically provided the option of the 2021-22 term as an alternative to the 2018-22 term to comply. Can you please advise why this guidance has not been followed and you've exempted.

Yours sincerely,

Jeff Kitley
