Dear Prime Minister’s Office,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Prime Minister’s Office's handling of my FOI request 'Meetings with Trade Union leaders'.

My request related to information about the meetings held by the Prime Minister since his election in May with Trade Union leaders and any correspondence with Trade Union leaders since his election in May. You refused to supply any data on correspondence with the Prime Minister because of the cost of manually sorting through 200,000 items of correspondence. I accept this. I do, however, wish to be supplied with details of the number of meetings held by the Pime Minister with Trade Union Leaders since May this year, and minutes where kept of these meetings. For this purpose you referred me to the generic transparency website and stated that these details are pro-actively published here. In point of fact there is no published data for any meetings with the Prime Minister on this portal since March this year. If the data is published pro-actively it is insufficently timely to be an adequate response to my FOI request.

On the 4th October the Prime Minister is quoted as saying,“The TUC do come into my office from time to time. I have had meetings with them, so always happy to talk to people about this."

Trade Union leaders have indicated that he has not met with them since the election in May. If there have been no meetings and no minutes then this would be fairly easy to confirm. If on the other hand there have been meetings between Trade Union leaders and the Prime Minister then these would not be so numerous as to be impossible to confirm regardless of the rather late "pro-active" publishing of meetings .

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/m...

Yours faithfully,

Paul Lythgoe
