Meetings and communications with the White House Iraq Group in the lead up to the Iraq War

Cabinet Office did not have the information requested.

Dear Cabinet Office,

Under the terms of the FoI Act 2000, I request disclosure of information held either (or both) by the Cabinet Office and Prime Minister's Office about all communications and/or meetings between Special Advisors and Civil Servants involved in the drafting of the WMD Programmes of Concern papers and the Iraq WMD dossier between February and September 2002 and the White House Iraq Group and members thereof. To clarify, this request seeks confirmation about whether such communications or meetings occurred, how many took place, who were involved and asks for records of contents of such communications and meetings.

Yours faithfully,

Christopher Lamb

Dear FOI Team - Cabinet Office [Restricted],

The civil servants concerned are named in an earlier FoI request answered by the Cabinet Office. The link is here:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicatio...

If I need to reduce the time span covered by the request to meet cost criteria, I reduce it to June to September 2002.

Yours sincerely,

christopher lamb

Dear FOI Team - Cabinet Office [Restricted],

Okay. I further refine my request to two named Special Advisors only; Alistair Campbell and Jonathan Powell. The date lines still apply.

I hope that this reduces the cost.

Yours sincerely,

christopher lamb

Dear FOI Team - Cabinet Office [Restricted],

I think that I may already have clarified this. I had originally identified the senior civil servants and special advisers involved in the team producing the Iraq WMD: Programmes of Concern papers preceding the September 2002 Iraq WMD dossier. I submitted to you the information released from a previous FoI request. This apparently entailed too great a cost. I refine my request to include now only the special advisers Alastair Campbell, who had powers of executive direction over the WMD: Programmes of Concern project and Jonathan Powell.

Yours sincerely,

christopher lamb
