Meeting between Prime Minister Tony Blair and Fujitsu over its ICL Pathway Horizon project

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Prime Minister's Office should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Prime Minister's Office,

In April 1999 a delegation of senior members of Fujitsu met the then Prime Minister, Tony Blair, to discuss its ICL Horizon Pathway project following concerns that it was about to be terminated.

A significant volte-face was in fact announced by the government in May 1999 due to significant project delays and technology obsolescence of the Benefits Payment Card.

Please can you disclose who attended the meeting between the Prime Minister and Fujitsu?

Please can you disclose minutes of the meeting at which the ICL Pathway Horizon project was discussed by the Prime Minister and Fujitsu in April 1999?

Yours sincerely,
Eleanor Shaikh

Dear Cabinet Office FOI Team,

I am writing to enquire as to the likely timescale for the release of documents asked via FOI (2021/94484) on 1 March 2021.

My request was acknowledged but on 24th March I was informed that due to Covid you had only limited and fluctuating access to your storage facilities.

On 25th April I sought an update from you only to receive a letter on 27th April which you later apologised for having been ‘sent in error’.

On 17th May I sought clarification from you on the expected response time to FOI 2021/04484 to which you replied ‘We hope to be able to provide you with a response soon’.

Please can you advise when you will be in a position to complete the necessary search?

Yours sincerely,
Eleanor Shaikh

Dear Cabinet Office FOI Team,

On 27 June 2021 I requested an update on my FOI request and I have not yet received a response.

I would like to know how much longer it will take for you to release documents asked via FOI (2021/94484) on 1 March 2021.

My request was acknowledged but on 24th March I was informed that due to Covid you had only limited and fluctuating access to your storage facilities.

On 25th April I sought an update from you only to receive a letter on 27th April which you later apologised for having been ‘sent in error’.

For clarity, I am refining my request:

Prime Minister Tony Blair met Mr Naruto, Vice Chairman of Fujitsu and Chairman of ICL on 12 April 1999. Please can you disclose the minutes of the meeting, attendees and any documentation pertaining to actions taken as a result of this meeting.

Please can you advise when you will be in a position to complete the necessary search?

Eleanor Shaikh

Dear FOI Team Mailbox,

Thankyou for your response which you clarify is not a response.

When you are able to send a response which is a response, I shall again request an internal review into the excessive delay in responding, or not, to a request made over eight months ago.

Yours sincerely,
