Medicine Selection Process Data
Dear Anglia Ruskin University,
(1) For your GCSE requirements, your website states two sciences are required at grade 6 or above. To clarify, can this include biology, chemistry, physics, science and additional science?
(2) Relating to your selection process, your website states in inviting to interview, you rank according to UCAT, with additional points available for students from the East/Essex. I have a few questions about this. (a) Because additional points are available, this means you must assign points based on UCAT score. Please can you detail in full how you assign point scores to UCAT? (b) How do you define whether a student is from the East of England or Essex (this is pertinent for students on the outskirts)? (c) How many additional points are available for students from the East of England, and Essex?
(3) Again relating to your selection process, your website states after interview, offers are given based solely on MMI. Please can you specify in full how scores are derived for applicants being interviewed?
(4) I would like to ask for some data from your selection process. For 2019 and 2020 entry (2018/19 and 2019/20 cycles respectively), please can you outline the following: (a) before interview, the minimum score required for interview and median score of all applicants invited to interview; (b) after interview, minimum interview score required for an offer and median interview score of all applicants given an offer.
Yours faithfully,
Brandon Tillson
