Dear Freedom of Information,

Thank you for your response. However, I do have two further queries in regards to your response:

1. Is there any admission statistics (Q1 to Q5) I can obtain for 2021 entry? If not, when will I be obtain this information?

2. Were international and widening participation applicants assessed differently in order to obtain an interview? If so, how were they assessed differently?

Yours faithfully,

Younus

Freedom of Information, University of St Andrews

Dear Younus,

In answer to your follow-up queries:

1.            Is there any admission statistics (Q1 to Q5) I can obtain
for 2021 entry? If not, when will I be obtain this information?

The 2021 entry data is not yet available and will be
released in mid-October.

2.            Were international and widening participation applicants
assessed differently in order to obtain an interview? If so, how were they
assessed differently?

Information on how students are selected for interview can
be found here:
[1]https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/subjects/me...

Find out more about Standard, Minimum and Gateway entry
requirements using academic entry explained and see which entry
requirements you need to look at using the entry requirements indicator.

For applicants to Medicine to be considered with the
Minimum entry requirements, they would need to be assessed as:

•             residing in the lowest 40% most deprived areas of the UK

or

•             being looked after as a result of a local authority order.
See information on care experienced applicants.

or

•             being registered as a young carer. See information on young
carers.

‘Widening participation’ applicants who meet (or who are predicted to
meet) the required academic grades and meet any of the above criteria (and
provide appropriate evidence), will be given a 10% increase in their UCAT
score, to be used in the ranking for invitation to interview.

If you have any further questions about this, please email
[2][email address] and my colleagues in Medical
Admissions will be able to advise you accordingly.

Yours sincerely,

June
