Dear Hajra,
Thank you for your email of 9 June requesting information from the
University of Liverpool. Colleagues have provided the information
requested below.
For the year 2019 how many students received an offer to study medicine
from realising opportunities? And how many places were available?
For 2019 entry, 23 students received an offer to study medicine under the
Realising Opportunities scheme. For the A100 medicine course there are
280 Home/EU places, and for the Realising Opportunities scheme we have no
set number and we assess the candidates against the published criteria on
the website at
[1]www.liverpool.ac.uk/medicine/study-with-us/undergraduate/admissions-information.
If you are unhappy with the way we have handled your request for
information, you have a right under Section 50 of the Freedom of
Information Act to ask the University to review it; however, you must do
so within 40 working days of the date of this response. Your request
should include our reference number and explain the reason for requesting

Thank for the response but the statistics do not add up. Earlier, you stated “For 2019 entry, 23 students received an offer to study medicine under the Realising Opportunities scheme”. However, the above states only 20 students from RO applied?
This does not make sense.

I asked colleagues to re-check our data. I apologise that there was an error in our reply.
I can confirm that, for 2019 entry, 25 application were received under the Realising Opportunities/Scholar Medicine scheme. 20 of these individuals received an offer.
