Dear Robinson College, Cambridge,

Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I kindly
request some raw data from you regarding university applications.

Information of all the applicants and offer holders for A100 Undergraduate Medicine Course at Robinson College for 2014 and 2015 entry:
1)The best 4 subjects UMS for AS
2) BMAT results for each sections
3) Number of international students applied and places offered

I would like to know the structure and style of interview (more emphasis on scientific knowledge or health issues?, any sample questions?), and the selection process for interview. Can you also provide me the marking rubrics for interview?

Yours faithfully,
Chung Benton Pok Hei

1)The best 4 subjects UMS for AS

The information you have requested is not held. This is because the University does not have any mechanism to distinguish between AS Level and A2 Level UMS scores. While many of the UMS scores that we collect from applicants relate to AS Levels, some applicants are in a position to supply A2 Level UMS scores, for example because they have taken certain modules or qualifications a year earlier than usual, or because they are applying post-qualification. In a spirit of advice and assistance, I can inform you that the University would be able to supply data to answer your questions based on the non-segregated UMS data that we hold.

2) BMAT results for each sections

Two spread sheets attached of the BMAT results for ALL applicants.

3) Number of international students applied and places offered

2014 Applicants: 9 Places offered: 1

2015 Applicants: 8 Places offered: 1

I would like to know the structure and style of interview (more emphasis on scientific knowledge or health issues?, any sample questions?), and the selection process for interview. Can you also provide me the marking rubrics for interview?

The interviews comprise a general interview and two academic interviews. They are designed to assess your insight into a career in medicine, why you wish to become a doctor, and why you wish to come to Cambridge University. They will also consider how you use your knowledge to solve problems or in novel situations. We are looking for evidence that you have a passion for biomedical science and the enthusiasm and ability to apply this in a clinical context. Our aim is for the interviews to be an enjoyable and stimulating experience. More information about interviews and examples of interviews are available from the university admissions website.

Dear Michele Tumber,

Is it possible that you supply me with the non-segregated UMS data that you hold from question 1? Thank you very much!

Yours sincerely,

Chung Benton Pok Hei
