Medical Evidence Sought by ATOS for PIP

Morag McCall made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Work and Pensions

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Department for Work and Pensions did not have the information requested.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

When completing a Personal Independence Payments application form, claimants can name three medical professionals that they would like ATOS to contact regarding the claimant's medical condition and their ability to meet the indicators of the PIP assessment. Of total PIP claims, I would like to know the number of gps or other medical professionals contacted by ATOS prior to appeal and when an appeal is pending.

Many thanks,

Yours faithfully,

Morag McCall
