Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your recent request made under the Freedom of Information
Act.
Please find Wirral Borough Councils response below:
Plans to protect the environment of the Wirral are set out in the Wirral
Council draft Core Strategy Local Plan. Please find detail published at
this link:

Wirral Council is committed to ensuring appropriate and safe management of
the trees across Wirral. A programme of tree work is being undertaken, in
response to a safety survey which has identified a number of trees
requiring remedial work, and some trees requiring felling.
Wirral Council’s officers are fully aware of the importance that trees
have in all aspects of our environment, both in terms of their
contribution to the biodiversity and wildlife of our towns and countryside
and their role in the health and well-being of local residents, as well as
there being an integral part of our urban and rural landscapes within
Wirral.
Council officers under take continuing professional development CPD as
appropriate, however this is not necessarily in the form of training
courses. In regard to Councillors, councillor briefing sessions are held
from time to time, tree protection and safety may of course be a topic for
a future session.
We trust that this information is of assistance to you and answers your
enquiries.
Yours sincerely
