Your request has been dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000 (FOIA), explained on our [1]freedom of information

1. Do you accept mattresses at the majority/all your HWRCs? Please answer
yes or no.

2. If yes, what is the charge in £ per mattress?

3. How are most of the mattress materials and components disposed of from
HWRCs?
Please select one option:
a) Sent for recycling (i.e., separated into component parts)
b) Sent for landfill
c) Sent for incineration for energy recovery

4. Do you offer a collection service for mattresses? Please answer yes or
no.

5. If yes, what is the charge in £ per mattress?

6. If yes, how are most of the mattress materials and components disposed
of from collections? Please select one option:
a) Sent for recycling (i.e., separated into component parts)

7. Does your authority have plans to revise how mattresses are disposed of
in the next 12 months? Please answer yes or no.

11. Where possible, please provide a URL(s) for any pages on your council

Our response:

We can only answer Q4 – Yes we collect and charge £28.00 for 1-3 items -
(Bulky waste collection service). We are the collection authority but
Leicestershire County Council direct us to where disposal is to be.
