Line of Business as your request does not fall under the scope for a
response under FOI.

Dear Department of Justice (Northern Ireland),

I previously had contact with you and the NIPB which included
communication with a former IMR. The emails have been sent to you between
14th June 2024 and 23rd June 2024. They were sent to the DOJ inbox. These
will confirm my identity.

I am now requesting the following material:

1.ALL “material concerning the IMR training, procedures, and processes”
that were supplied to the SMP and the IMRs between 2017 - 2023. This
includes any digital material shared with them or as Dr **** has described
any folders of paperwork.

Please be aware, this training material refers the period between 2017 and
2023 only. The following documents concerning the IMR training,
procedures, and processes that were supplied to all SMPs and IMRs are
listed below.   

i)          Annotated IMR familiarisation session presentation; and  

ii)         IMR presentation – role of the NI Policing Board

iii)        The Joint Guidance for Medical practitioners (V2 September 16)

In addition, IMRs are provided with a copy of the Police Service of
Northern Ireland and Police Service of Northern Ireland Reserve (Injury
Benefit) Regulations 2006 which can be found [1]here.

2.The "assessment method policy" (Detailed in an FOI that was removed from
the NIPB website in 2019) This document is from 2017 and is separate to
the SMP guidance.

The department does not hold a copy of the FOI to which you refer.

The current Joint NIPB DoJ Guidance (V2 September 16) for Medical
Practitioners on IOD Awards contains the degree of disablement assessment
method (the contents of the policy), at section 4. The Joint Guidance for
Medical practitioners is the only guidance document used by the SMPs/IMRs
from September 2016.

3. The process maps relating to the SMP and the IMR/appeals process
produced by the NIPB and agreed by them in 2020.

Please find attached the process map relating to the IMR/appeals process
produced by the NIPB.

4. A full and unredacted copy of the paper called "The Implications of the
McKee & others v The Charity Commission for Northern Ireland document"

I have a clarification question about the answer to question 3:

I asked for 3. The process maps relating to the SMP and the IMR/appeals
process produced by the NIPB and agreed by them in 2020. Can you please
confirm that the end to end process maps you have provided are the same
ones produced by the NIPB in 2020 and presented to the resource committee
that year as part of the NIPBs fundamental change of process

Attached is the End-to-End Process Map, produced by the Northern Ireland
Policing Board, and used in 2020 for the IMR appeals process. This version
is now obsolete and no longer in use.

The previous process map you were provided with is the current version.
