masters?

The request was successful.

Dear North Ayrshire Council,

Having attended a few meetings with North Ayrshire Council with regards to the new, and may I be so bold to say, unwanted school in Largs, I was taken aback when we were all told by our councilors that the campus, as there called now will be going ahead come what may. This campus is going to be built whether you like it or not we were all told.
No way for servants to behave I thought.
My question to North Ayrshire Council is this: If you claim to be public servants then who are your masters?????

Yours faithfully, dougie: allan

Local government in Scotland comprises 32 unitary local authorities, the
legislative basis for which is the Local Government etc (Scotland) Act
1994, (see [1]http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1994...). North
Ayrshire Council is responsible for the provision of schools in North
Ayrshire, including their siting under section 17 of the Education

[2]http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1980...).

Each local authority is governed by a council. North Ayrshire Council is
made up of councillors directly elected by the residents of each council
ward. Each ward has three or four councillors. Information about the
current administration, committees and individual councillors is available
on our website, see
[3]http://www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/council.... The Council has
delegated decisions on education to its Cabinet.

In respect of the Largs school campus, public consultation was undertaken
as stipulated in the School’s Consultation Act. The proposal and
consultation reports were approved at the meeting of Cabinet on 10 March
2015. The agenda (including the consultation reports, p25-142) and minutes
for the meeting are available on our website. Please see:

You ask 'If you claim to be public servants then who are your masters?'
Decisions made by the Council can be subject to scrutiny by the courts.
