Mrs K Eady,

Dear Ms Jones
We have a received your Freedom of Information request, please see our reply as follows:
Stour Valley Community School did not open until 1st September 2011 so we only have one year’s trading accounts to refer to and these covered the set up period of the school. Our accounts have just been filed with the Young People’s Learning Agency (YPLA) and should be in the public domain shortly.
The total spend for advertising and marketing up to 31st August 2011 was £27470.00.
Total spend from 1st September to date is £630.00.
We do not employ a member of staff solely for marketing.
We have not used the services of an education consultancy.
I hope this answers your query.
Kind Regards

Dear Katrina Eady,

Thank you for your response. While it may be true that this information is also held at Companies House, this basic accounting information should be readily available in school records. As a result, I do not think this exemption has been applied correctly. In the interests of transparency, I would ask that you reconsider your position and provide figures for 1 and 2 and answers for points 3 and 4 at your earliest convenience.

Yours sincerely,

Rhian Jones
