Dear Priory City of Lincoln Academy,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Priory City of Lincoln Academy's handling of my FOI request 'Marketing/PR activities'.

I am not satisfied with the academies response to my request. The academy has not given any of the figures that were requested. In the interest of making the spending of public money transparent I would ask that the response is reviewed and the academy provides answers for questions 1 & 2 using the categories stated.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address:

Yours faithfully,

Rhian Jones

The Priory Lincoln Academy is part of the Priory Federation of Academies Trust. This Academies Trust is an exempt charity and does not, therefore, submit accounts to the Charity Commission. Accounts are, however, lodged at Companies House but can only be accessed on payment of a fee.

According to the Charity Commission, academies must provide a copy of their accounts on request subject to a copying fee. It would appear that the Priory Federation of Academies Trust is failing in its legal obligation by either (a) ignoring any request or (b) directing enquirers to the Companies House website.

The Priory Federation of Academies Trust was the subject of an investigation by the Education Funding Agency (EFA) which found financial irregularites including, among other things, misuse of the Federation's credit card by the CEO and Finance Director. The DfE report is here:
