March 2010 Red Arrows RAFAT manoeuvres recommendation

The request was partially successful.

Dear Ministry of Defence,

The Service Inquiry into the Red Arrows incident in Crete in March 2010 recommended that 'a complete risk assessment of all RAFAT manoeuvres should be conducted.'

I would like to know
1. When this risk assessment was a) started and b) completed?
2. Which manoeuvres it covered?
3. The name of the supervising officer who signed off on the findings of the risk assessment.

Yours faithfully,

D Lucas

Dear Air-DRes Sec-ParliBusiness (MULTIUSER),

Thank you for your previous response. To follow up, I was wondering if you could clarify some further points for me, please.

You listed these manoeuvres -

Barrel Roll.
Loop.
Quarter Clover.
Vertical Breaks.
Infinity and Vixen Breaks.
Slalom.
Goose.
Rollbacks.
Whirlwind.
Palm Split.
Detonator.
Gypo Pass.
Cyclone/Slingshot.
Heart.
Vortex.
Opposition Barrel Roll.
Carousel.
Corkscrew.
Gypo Break.
Double Rolls

I did not see the break to land manoeuvre on the list. I would like to know if this was included in the risk assessment, please? If not, why was it not included?

Furthermore, I would like to know if manoeuvres were assessed for the G-force they exerted on pilots?

Thank you again.

Yours sincerely,

D Lucas
