Maps of public corridors on larger Tube stations

Georg V made this Freedom of Information request to Transport for London

This request has been closed to new correspondence. Contact us if you think it should be reopened.

The request was successful.

Dear Transport for London,

I´m interested in maps that show all public entrances/exits and corridors in Tube interchange stations.
So to clarify: This would be a map showing platforms, entrances/Exits and every way passengers can use under normal conditions to make their way out of the station or to a different line.

I found an appropriate example at Network Rail´s Website, for St.Pancras Station (this is the link to this map http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/SME/html/N...).

If it is not fully clear what kind of maps I am requesting, then please contact me.

Yours faithfully,

Georg V

Dear Mr Vehres

Our Ref:         FOI-0368-1516

Thank you for your e-mail received on 8 June 2015 asking for information
about maps of public entrances/exits at London Underground interchange
stations.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can
confirm we do hold the information you require.

Please find the requested information attached. Some of the information
contained in the attached plans has been withheld as it is subject to a
statutory exemption to the right of access to information, under Section
38(1)(b) of the Act.

In this instance the exemption has been applied as disclosure of the
information requested would be likely to adversely affect the safety and
security of TfL employees and members of the general public.

Disclosure of this information to you has to be regarded as a disclosure
to ‘the public at large’. This information could potentially be obtained
and utilised by individuals who may wish to use this detailed level
technical information to cause disruption or harm to the London
Underground network. Additionally disclosure of information which could
compromise security and safety preparedness on London Underground’s
network would place members of the public and TfL staff at risk by
highlighting areas on the network which could be susceptible to being
targeted.

The use of this exemption is subject to an assessment of the public
interest in relation to the disclosure of the information concerned. TfL
recognises the need for openness and transparency by public authorities,
but in this instance the public interest in applying the exemption, in
order to minimise risks to operational resilience, safe operation of the
London Underground network, the welfare of staff and members of the
general public, outweighs the public interest in disclosure.

Also please note that in accordance with TfL’s obligations under the Data
Protection Act 1998 (DPA) some personal data has been removed, as required
by section 40(2) of the FOI Act. This is because disclosure of this
personal data would be a breach of the DPA, specifically the first
principle of the DPA which requires all processing of personal data to be
fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal
information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed
and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions of Schedule 2 of the Data
Protection Act which would make the processing ‘fair’.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for some reason, please feel free to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely

Hi,

There seems to be some stations missing. Mornington Crescent and Baker Street are among them
