Map of alternative hospitals for SWAH. (BBCNI)

The request was refused by British Broadcasting Corporation.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Can I please have any information which relates to a BBC map with a BBC logo and the title above it" alternative emergency surgery hospitals".
Quoting:
Altnagelvin hospital
Craigavon hospital and
Sligo University Hospital as alternative to the south west acute hospital population.

Can I please have details - formal and informal - on the creation of this map and any associated bodies who may have had input in producing it.

This map has been used in many articles on SWAH by BBC reporters in Northern Ireland.

This map has been used in every article on SWAH by BBC reporters in Northern Ireland. Surely BBC are aware that Sligo University Hospital is not available for Northern Ireland Ambulance service paramedics due to both legal and geographical issues.

Dear FOI Enquiries,
This is only the second request I have made from BBC and this “art and literature” label was used in both of the responses to refuse my requests. This label does not sent you above FOI disclosures in my humble opinion.

I’m asking about a map which will use for news, fact you will delivery are you object to the fact that you feel entitled not to answer. This map is misled people and is physically incorrect.

I would like to point out that your MAP has been misused- it was designed and only maps Hospital to hospital transfer yet you use it to imply that all people in Fermanagh have alternatives with in round about an hour.
Your facts on Sligo are incorrect you should have checked that
This map has misled some and I would assume that BBC is not creating geographical bias intentionly?
Your map incorrect, as it is featured in the Western trust documentation in which they attempt to justify their position therefore it is a very important map. My questions remain

I chose to ask in freedom of information, rather than to expose in any other way. Your map seems determined to imply that SWAH has three alternative hospitals. Sligo hospital is not in Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland ambulance service paramedic credentials are not accepted in the south of Ireland. Therefore your map is misleading and incorrect.

I would like you to answer the questions which I posted.
I would very much doubt that art or literature when delivered on BBC news as the intention of misleading the public. Therefore please remove the material having explain to me how it got there. This is a serious situation.

Regards
Helen Hamill

Very disappointing to see is that an institution, like BBC seems determined to not answer questions and to rise above by “art, journalism and literature“
I hope to find an answer to a factual inaccuracies, which has been used for Miss used widely

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'Map of alternative hospitals for SWAH. (BBCNI)'.

I’m disgusted to get an answer from the BBC that whilest. They are aware that the material they are giving out is misleading to the provision of emergency and urgent surgery to the population in South Tyrone served by SWAH , that the organisation stands over information which potentially has repercussions for medical alert comes.

Why would you do this?

I think it’s appalling to want to stand by a map created created entirely about our population…. including Hospital, we are meant to go to which is:
for geographical reasons
for legal reasons, and
As paramedic credentials from Northern Ireland do not carry across the border, unless it is in a humanitarian crisis.

BBC standing over this should not be legal I would imagine? as our information comes from working with RQIA Northern Ireland.

As a disabled person, I would prefer a phone call to discuss this at this point in time. But I do wish this map to be removed urgently.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/m...

BBC are determined not to disclose why they have missing information on a map, which will affect leaves and medical outcomes where I live.
They will not answer my FOI request

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'Map of alternative hospitals for SWAH. (BBCNI)'.
I am shocked that BBC produce a MAP which has misinformation on it.

The facts have been assssed and validated by RQIA. BBC seem determined to imply they are not providing facts which do suggest that they are correct.

please see link to response.
to recive a comment about "art" when we are talking about lives here is very bizarre bt BBC,

we will invistigate this. https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/m...
and include exxamples such as the WHSCT consultation documents - which RQIA are looking into.
the map relates to South West Acute Hospital in Western Health and Social Care Trust - and is featured repeatedly in Northern ireland media.

Can you explain when facts become risks as opposed to artistic licence?

We have provided a response to this request under RFI20231398, therefore this request (RFI20231500) is now closed.

Dear Helen Hamill,

Thank you for your email. We have interpreted your request for internal
review below as relating to the decision that the information you asked
for in your original request (RFI20231398) fell outside of the scope of
the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘The Act’). As stated in the Appeal
Rights included in our original response, the BBC does not offer an
internal review when the information requested is not covered by the Act.
However, if you disagree with our decision you can appeal to the
Information Commissioner. Contact details are: Information Commissioner's
Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF, tel: 0303

Please note that should the Information Commissioner’s Office decide that
the Act does cover this information, exemptions under the Act might then
apply.

However, if you would like us to conduct an internal review into the
handling of your further request (RFI20231500), and specifically into the
decision that this was a repeat of your original request, then please
could you confirm.

Thank you.

Can I ask for help here.
I live in the area of SWAH catchment - the wouth westerb region of NOrtern Ireland.
BBC have created a map which gives proven "misinformation" and that is inexcusable to me as I know and can provide evidence that this is the case.

"art" or "creativity" does not potentialy cause risk or compromise health outcomes for people.
Please see if you can hekp, please.

Thankyou
Helen
