From Community Work Placement Provider Guidance:
"2.59 You must chart and record all the activities agreed with the claimant throughout their time on the provision, including all mandatory activities. The plan must be signed by you ‘the provider’ and claimant, initially at the Initial Engagement Meeting and then regularly reviewed and updated and you must retain evidence of action planning."
1. Is it mandatory for the claimant to sign the Action Plan?
2. Please provide any and all recorded information confirming that signing the Action Plan is a mandatory activity.
3. Please provide a copy of any and all recorded information confirming that Work Programme providers can formally mandate claimants to sign the Action Plan.
4. If signing the Action Plan by claimants is either mandatory or can be made mandatory by Work Programme providers, please provide all recorded information confirming the consequences to claimants who choose not to sign one.

In your response (FOI 2392) you wrote:
"While there is no specific mandatory requirement for individuals to sign certain forms, including Action Plans... "
This appears at odds with the information contained in the Community Work Placement provider guidance:
"The plan must be signed by you ‘the provider’ and claimant, "
Can you confirm that the word "must" used in the statement above from the Community Work Placement provider guidance does not mean that a claimant must sign an Action Plan? Your response indicates that a claimant NEED NOT sign an Action Plan.
