Mandatory Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations
Dear Epping Forest District Council,
Energy costs are rising and the Government has had helpful and mandatory legislation in place since 2009. Whilst you do not currently appear to comply, and may face a fine, there are other compelling cost saving strategies to consider.
1. Are you aware of the Energy Performance of Building Regulations in respect of air conditioning?
2. Do you intend to comply and obtain an Air Conditioning TM44 Certificate lodged on the government database?
3. Are you aware that all Government buildings also require a Display Energy Certificate, updated annually?
4. Note the link below for the government Database to assist

5. Who is the Responsible Person for building compliance at your Organisation?
Yours faithfully,

Dear Thomas Johnson,
Freedom of Information Request Ref: 2422
I refer to your recent request for information about mandatory energy
performance regulations. The information you requested is as follows and
attached (1 attachment):
1. Are you aware of the Energy Performance of Building Regulations in
respect of air conditioning?
Yes
2. Do you intend to comply and obtain an Air Conditioning TM44 Certificate
lodged on the government database?
The Civic Offices were refurbished with all new air conditioning equipment
and currently does not require a TM44 for equipment within five years of
installation.
However, it is EFDC’s intention to have one carried out shortly
3. Are you aware that all Government buildings also require a Display
Energy Certificate, updated annually?
Unfortunately the Display Energy Certificate was overlooked after the
refurbishment, but has now been carried out and is displayed in the main
reception area.
A copy is attached while the gov.uk website is updated
