Manchester Pride
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
Please say if you are aware that it is free to enter the Gay Village while Manchester Pride event are on.
Bit of background.
In 2002 Manchester Pride and the council were told that they couldn't insist on a charge to enter the village but this from 2003. Since the ombudsman ruling that said the wording went beyond the powers of the council the roads within the gay village are only closed to vehicles only.
Every year since the ombudsman ruling Manchester Pride have may have acted unlawful be telling people they need to to get into all the bars and even last year when Veronica wong from the council contacted them many times about people free access being obstructed and them assaulting people by grabbing them by the arm, they still continued to act unlawful as it's an offence under section 137 of the highways act for them to obstruct free passage.
Can you please give me all recorded information you have received on Manchester Pride since 2014 to date.
Please say if Manchester Pride or anyone else have asked you to not report any issues with Manchester Pride and pedestrians right of free access.
Can you also please state if you have sponsored them as their website states you are a sponsor .
Yours faithfully,
Alex Fox
