Dear Clackmannanshire Council,

Management Structure and Salary Costs

Dear [FOI Officer],

I am interested in understanding how the Council has progressed its transformation proposals, particularly regarding management structures and cost reductions.

The Council’s 2018/19 budget outlined plans to reform management arrangements, with the key objectives stated in Appendix A of the budget report as follows:

Reducing the number of management tiers from four to three.
Reducing the number of management posts.
Achieving savings of £756,000 in management costs.

I would like to request the following information:

1) The NUMBER of managers earning £70,000 or more as of 31 March in the following years:
2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25 (forecast), and 2025/26 (budget).

2) Total salary expenditure for managers earning £70,000 or more in the following financial years:
2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24, 2024/25 (forecast), and 2025/26 (budget).
If possible, please provide details on the impact of annual pay awards in each year to help distinguish cost increases due to salary inflation from structural changes.
If any of this information is already publicly available, I would appreciate being directed to the relevant source.

I would be grateful if you could provide this information in electronic format. If any part of this request is unclear, please let me know so I can clarify.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Yours faithfully,

Joe Simson
