I write in response to your Freedom of Information Request. The
information has been provided by our procurement department and is listed
below against your questions:

   

     1. Current contract details

     a. Photocopiers/MFD’s – The majority of devices are purchased by
SWFRS, however four are currently on contract lease.

     b. Printers – All purchased, no contracts in place

     c. Print room / reprographics – SWFRS has an In house design team.  A
small amount of print jobs are awarded through the National Procurement
Service framework.

    

     2. Companies awarded

     a. Photocopiers/MFD’s – Canon for contract lease

     b. Printers – N/A

     c. Print room / reprographics – Harlequin, Pughs, Semaphore,
Screentec, Spectrum

    

     3. Length of contract/s and end dates

     a. Photocopiers/MFD’s – 4 Years

     b. Printers – N/A

     c. Print room / reprographics – One off jobs

    

     4. Number of devices

     a. Photocopiers/MFD’s - 12

     b. Printers - 11

     c. Print room / reprographics – Included in above – not dedicated to
one area

    

     5. Annual print/copy volume

     a. Photocopiers/MFD’s – 1.1M Mono, 550k Colour

     b. Printers – included in above

     a. Photocopiers/MFD’s – Approximately £50k

     b. Printers – Approximately £6k

     c. Print room / reprographics – Approximately £40k on external print

     your organization? – N/A

     11. What PDF software do you pay for? And how many licenses do you

     pay for (an average per annum would be a good number here please)? –
Adobe Creative Suite x 6

     12. Who is the person within your organization responsible for the
MFD’s and the contract, what is their title, and their email address
please?

           

With regard to your request for direct contact details, SWFRS operates a
single point of contact policy. All callers are requested to contact the
Service via  HQ Reception on 01443 232000. The call will be directed to
the most appropriate department/individual to deal with your call.

 

This is the same for email correspondence. Please direct all emails
enquiries to [South Wales Fire Service request email] so that your request can be
directed as appropriate.

 

This policy is in operation  to ensure that calls/emails are dealt with
more efficiently – as structures/posts can change, this prevents emails
being sent to individuals whose role may have changed.  It also prevents
individuals from receiving unwarranted calls/correspondence.

 

This stance is supported by guidance from the Information Commissioner’s
Office.
