Dear Reclaim Fund Ltd,

Please find below my FOI request regarding malicious emails sent to the department.

The date range for the requests is from 2018 to present day. The data shall include a breakdown by year and by individual departments (e.g. separate departments, agencies, or public bodies within the main government agency), if applicable.

1. How many malicious emails have been successfully blocked?
2. What percentage of malicious emails were opened by staff?
3. What percentage of malicious links in the emails were clicked on by staff?
4. How many ransomware attacks were blocked by the department?
5. How many ransomware attacks were successful?

Dear Ms Moody

 

Further to your FOI request of 13 November 2021 relating to malicious
emails and ransomware attacks, we can provide the following information:

 

Firstly, regarding the date range you request, our reporting records
unfortunately cover only a 30-day period and this is therefore the range
on which we have based our responses.

Secondly, we are a small business of only 15 employees and have therefore
presented the information as one set, rather than breaking it down by
department.

 

1. How many malicious emails have been successfully
blocked?                               Out of 2,129 scanned emails, 9 were
deemed to have suspicious links and were successfully blocked.

2. What percentage of malicious emails were opened by
staff?                                No malicious emails were opened by
staff.

3. What percentage of malicious links in the emails were clicked on by
staff?    No malicious emails were clicked on by staff.

4. How many ransomware attacks were blocked by the department?      
              No ransomware attacks occurred during this period.

5. How many ransomware attacks were
successful?                                                   No
ransomware attacks occurred during this period.
