Malicious email volume
Dear Birmingham Organising Committee for the 2022 Commonwealth Games Ltd,
Please find below my FOI request regarding malicious emails sent to the department.
The date range for the requests is from 2018 to present day. The data shall include a breakdown by year and by individual departments (e.g. separate departments, agencies, or public bodies within the main government agency), if applicable.
1. How many malicious emails have been successfully blocked?
2. What percentage of malicious emails were opened by staff?
3. What percentage of malicious links in the emails were clicked on by staff?
4. How many ransomware attacks were blocked by the department?
5. How many ransomware attacks were successful?

We will be interpreting your phrase 'malicious emails' in your request to mean phishing attempts. If this is not correct, please tell us as soon as possible.
Please be aware that the Act provides a number of exemptions which may prevent release of the information you have requested. Your request will be reviewed and if any of the exemption categories apply, then the information will not be provided.
We will send you a full response within 20 working days, either supplying you with the information which you have requested or explaining to you why we cannot supply it.
