1. How many malicious emails have been successfully blocked?
2. What percentage of malicious emails were opened by staff?
3. What percentage of malicious links in the emails were clicked on by staff?
4. How many ransomware attacks were blocked by the department?
5. How many ransomware attacks were successful?

Yours faithfully,

Geoffrey Dodds, Defence and Security Media Advisory Committee

Dear Ms Moody,

Thank you for your e-mail requesting information on malicious emails and
ransomware emails received by the department.   In this response, I have
assumed 'department' to be the DSMA Committee's secretariat (1 FT employee
and 3 part-time employees).
Although as a non-public body the DSMA Committee is not subject to the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 or the Freedom of Information (Scotland)
Act 2002, it is committed to practising a policy of maximum disclosure
consistent with its aim of preventing the inadvertent public disclosure of
information that would compromise UK national security; and that the
subsequent advice is sought and given in confidence. Please see
www.dsma.uk for more information on the DSMA-Notice System.
I am not aware of any ransomware attacks on the secretariat since 2018.
Nor am I aware of any malicious emails in the same time period.  Very
occasionally, I have received spurious emails and I regularly empty the
junk folder.

I hope this helps.  Please do come back to me should you have any further
questions,
Kind Regards,
Geoffrey Dodds
