Dear Royal Mail Group Limited,

I am interested as to how the logistics of mail delivered in Burghfield Common, Nr Reading occurs as the delivery office which i assume is in Reading is 6-7 miles away. Please provide me as detailed explanation as to how mail destined for this village arrives at premises from the sorting office I.e how is the mail transported from the sorting office to the village and how and where it is distributed to mail delivery personnel In the village.

I am writing in response to your email dated 24th November 2013.

Following the flotation of Royal Mail on the London Stock Exchange on 15th October 2013, it is no longer subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Royal Mail was previously subject to the Act because it was wholly owned by the government. However, now that the government has sold some of its shares in Royal Mail, this is no longer the case. Therefore, we are no longer obliged to respond to requests for information under the terms of the Act.
