M6/M62 Croft interchange red light camera removal

Michael Reay made this Freedom of Information request to Highways England Company Limited

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Highways England Company Limited,

In November 2017 a new scheme to alleviate congestion at the croft interchange was opened. As part of that scheme traffic lights were installed at the end slip road to control the flow traffic leaving M6 South as it enters M62 East. At the traffic lights was a red light safety camera which also had a remotely monitored CCTV camera pointing to it.

As of today's date it appears that the camera and lights have been completely removed.

How much did the camera and lights Cost to install?

How long were they live for?

Did the safety camera actually go live and generate any fines?

Are they planned to be re-installed and re-instated in the future.?

Yours faithfully,

Michael Reay
