M18
Dear Doncaster Borough Council,
Lee Watkinson a senior engineer confirmed that, ‘Doncaster Council in conjunction with National Highways are looking at improvements to junction 3 of the M18. These improvements will include localised widening of the west bound off slip and the installation of traffic signals at the top of the slip road. The scheme is currently being designed by AECOM and once the design has been completed, approved by National Highways and planning consent gained a contractor will be appointed to construct the improvements.’
Please could you provide an update regarding these impediments and any timeframes.
Thanks
Yours faithfully,
John Anthony

Response
Regulation 12(4)(a)- Information is not held
A thorough search for information has been undertaken and can confirm that
we do not physically hold the above information. However, in the spirit of
being helpful I can further respond to your request as an enquiry and can
advise you as follows:
Doncaster Council in conjunction with National Highways and AECOM are
developing a scheme, which would locally widen the southbound exit slip
and provide traffic signals at the top of the slip road.
AECOM are currently preparing the detailed design for the scheme and on
completion of this, a planning application will be submitted. Subject to
planning permission being granted and National Highways accepting the
design alterations to their network a full business case for the scheme
will be submitted to the South Yorkshire Combined Mayoral Authorities.
Acceptance of the business case would release the funding, which would
allow construction works to commence in autumn 2023.
Please note, the extra information we have given has been provided as part
of an enquiry and not under EIR. Therefore, should you wish to appeal this
response, this information cannot be included.
I hope this information is useful to you.
