LU Announcement
Dear Transport for London,
I am writing this letter to request some new announcements scripts on the London Underground, as I recently discovered that there are changes on the Circle, Hammersmith&City, District, Metropolitan Lines announcement. The destination announcements on these lines are moved to the beginning of the at-station announcement, instead of the next station announcement.
Therefore I would like to request the newest script for the Circle, Hammersmith&City, District, Metropolitan Lines and reasons for making changes to the announcements at the station.
I would also like to request the DVA Script of the Central, Northern, and Victoria Line, as there might be some changes in the script after someone else requested before on this site.
I can guarantee that the documents I wish to require are for personal collection only.
Yours faithfully,
ZIYI ZHANG
Dear Ziyi,
TfL Ref: 0059-2122
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 4 April 2021. I apologise for not getting back to you sooner.
The Government has announced a series of measures to tackle the Coronavirus. It is essential for London, and in particular for all critical workers, that we continue to provide a safe transport network that enables them to make the journeys they need to.
Please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation and so you may wish to reconsider the timing of this request. Please notify us as soon as possible if you would like to withdraw your request at the current time.
Should you wish to proceed with the request we will aim to issue a response by 29 April 2021 in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.
We publish a substantial range of information on our website on subjects including operational performance, contracts, expenditure, journey data, governance and our financial performance. This includes data which is frequently asked for in FOI requests or other public queries. Please check http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/transpar... to see if this helps you.
We will publish anonymised versions of requests and responses on the www.tfl.gov.uk website. We will not publish your name and we will send a copy of the response to you before it is published on our website.
In the meantime, if you would like to discuss this matter further, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Dear Ziyi.
TfL Ref: 0059-2021
Thank you for your request received by us on 4 April 2021 asking for
information about various London Underground scripts.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can
confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:
some new announcements scripts on the London Underground, as I recently
discovered that there are changes on the Circle, Hammersmith&City,
District, Metropolitan Lines announcement. The destination announcements
on these lines are moved to the beginning of the at-station announcement,
instead of the next station announcement.
Therefore I would like to request the newest script for the Circle,
Hammersmith&City, District, Metropolitan Lines and reasons for making
changes to the announcements at the station.
I would also like to request the DVA Script of the Central, Northern, and
Victoria Line, as there might be some changes in the script after someone
else requested before on this site.
Please find attached the requested Digitised Voice Announcer (DVA) scripts
for London Underground’s Victoria, Central and Northern line services.
Also included is the ‘Traffic Circular’ briefing note given to Operating
Staff describing the changes made, plus the ‘Reasons for making changes to
S Stock announcements’ document describes the reasoning behind it.
For S-stock tube trains, which includes the Hammersmith & City, District
and Metropolitan lines, I can advise that such scripts have never been
updated and to do so now would be a lengthy process and at cost.
Consequently, scripts for these networks have not been provided as no
changes have been made.
If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think
carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as
answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the
attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where
requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by
the current situation.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
