Dear Mr Knight
Freedom of Information request: FOI-73035
Thank you for your request dated 02 May 2023.
Our response is as follows:
- The number of reports received of vandalism targeting low traffic
neighbourhood (LTN) measures in the Borough, by month, since April 2022.
- The most common type of LTN vandalism reported, since April 2022
(graffiti, fire-setting, physical damage etc.).
- The amount of money spent by the local authority on fixing, rectifying
or maintaining LTN measures since April 2022.
In relation to this enquiry, Royal Borough of Greenwich maintains sections
of Highway. You can purchase a map showing the extent of the maintained
highway by going to
[1]https://www.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/info/2...
In relation to those parts that are highway maintained at public
expense:
1. The Council receives over 18,000 highways related enquiries/reports
each year. Due to restrictions with the report, the filtering out of
specific items for specific roads, would have to be done manually which is
not practical. Therefore, we are unable to provide the number of reports
received of vandalism targeting low traffic neighbourhood LTN measures in
the Borough, by month, since April 2022.
2. The Council receives over 18,000 highways related enquiries/reports
each year. Due to restrictions with the report, the filtering out of
specific items for specific roads, would have to be done manually which is
not practical. Therefore, we are unable to provide the most common type
of LTN vandalism reported, since April 2022.
3. The Council’s approach does not include making formal records of the
cause of repair. Highway inspectors raise over 1,000 works orders each
month. Due to restrictions with the report, the filtering out of specific
items for specific roads, would have to be done manually which is not
practical. Therefore, we are unable to provide the amount of money spent
by the local authority on fixing, rectifying, or maintaining LTN measures
since April 2022.
If you have any queries about this correspondence, please contact me,
quoting the reference number above.
If you are not satisfied with our response to your request, you can ask
for an Internal Review. Internal review requests must be submitted within
two months of the date of receipt of the response to your original
request. If you wish to do this, please contact us in writing, setting
out why you are dissatisfied.
If you are not satisfied with the outcome of the Internal Review, you may
apply directly to the Information Commissioner (ICO) for a decision.
Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the
Internal Review procedure provided by the Council. You can contact the ICO
by emailing [2][email address], or by post at Customer Contact,
Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow,
SK9 5AF.
